Tour overview
A unique combination of wind, water and sand has been shaping this narrow strip of land since the beginning of time. Today it is known as the Curonian Spit and it is a UNESCO world heritage site. There is plenty to see here: the migrating dunes, the wildlife, the old fishermen villages and, the last but not the least, the Pervalka Lighthouse. We believe that the combination of the spectacular nature, cultural and historical heritage and a truly unforgettable cedar canoe paddling experience makes this tour one of a kind.

Take a chance to experience a unique place in an unforgettable way. Paddle your cedar strip canoe towards that dune. Make yourself comfortable in our stylish outdoor chairs and enjoy our legendary Wet Weim picnic basket.

What we'll do
For a start, Wet Weim Adventures will arrange a picturesque ferry transfer to the Curonian Spit. We will travel from Klaipeda to the village of Pervalka, passing Juodkrante town with its peaceful embankments. Our launch site is the Pervalka bay. Here we will start with a briefing, introduction to canoe paddling and will practice some basic canoe strokes in the local marina. Afterwards, we will proceed to the Pervalka Lighthouse. We will paddle along the shore, enjoying picturesque views of the dunes, the Curonian Lagoon and of course, the main landmark of this trip, the Pervalka Lighthouse. Expand…
After a short photoshoot at the lighthouse (no need to risk your own equipment, your guide will take pictures with his camera and a drone) we will paddle towards the dunes. Here we will set our camp for our favorite picnic basket lunch. Simply sit back, have a glass of wine, a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the view. Once we've finished, we will head back to the starting point. On our way back we will make two stops: first, at famous heron and cormorant colony, one of the largest colonies of these birds in Europe, second, in Juodkrante village (former Schwarzort).

What we'll provide +

Things to take: sunscreen, glasses, hat, swimming suite, bottle of water, rain waterproof jacket and a full change of clothes.
What to wear while canoeing is important.

When the air and water are warm, simply dress for a day at the beach. Keeping in mind to wear things that protect you from the sun and keep you cool.

When the air is cool, you have to assess the conditions and your capabilities more carefully.

The key concept to bear in mind is layering. Several thin garments will keep you just as warm as a single thicker one, and are much more versatile. Remember you’ll need to think about staying cool as much as staying warm, and you can always add or subtract layers. The base-layer provides insulation and picks up perspiration and either absorbs it (like cotton or wool) or wicks it outward (like synthetic fibers). You want moisture to be wicked away. The insulating layer can be wool, fleece, or a similar material. Look for garments that are cut to allow complete freedom of movement. The outer layer protects you, the base-layer, and the insulating layer from the elements. Make sure it is both windproof and waterproof.

Footwear can range from old sneakers to hiking boots, to rubber boots.
